Ms. Erhan Ma Beginner Chinese Instructor
Ms. Ma previously served as a full-time preschool teacher and manager in China. Since her relocation to the United States in 1999, she has been teaching Kindergarten and Grade 1 Chinese. Additionally, Ms. Ma currently offers private tutoring sessions.
Ms. Lilian Sun Listening and Speaking Instructor
After earning her Master’s degree in Chinese Education, Ms. Sun embarked on a teaching journey that has taken her to various settings, including private high schools, after-school programs, and Huaxia Chinese Schools. Additionally, she has served as a private tutor for several years. With extensive familiarity with textbooks and materials, Ms. Sun advocates for tailored teaching approaches to accommodate diverse student needs. Driven by a desire to enrich Chinese education with her expertise and wealth of experience, Ms. Sun extends her tutoring services to students from kindergarten to AP Chinese.
Ms. Jun Cao Chinese Painting & Calligraphy Instructor
Ms. Cao serves as an Arts & Crafts teacher at a local Chinese school, where her expertise encompasses watercoloring, origami, various crafts, and traditional Chinese painting. She is an esteemed member of the Scarsdale Art Association and was honored as the First Prize winner in the 2015 Winter Show for Graphic art. Ms. Cao is an alumna of Santa Ana College.
Ms. Grace Pan Math Instructor
With over a decade of experience teaching Math Olympics and Math Kangaroo, Ms. Pan demonstrates a strong commitment to education. Following the completion of her MBA in Accounting in the USA, she held the position of Vice President at Citi Home Equity, Citibank, for a decade. Actively engaged in her community, Ms. Pan is a dedicated member of the PTA, contributing to both local English and Chinese schools. Additionally, she has served as President and board member of OCA-WHV for over a decade.
Ms. Nancy Ma Abacus Instructor
Having graduated from Liaoning University with a major in financial accounting, Ms. Pan also dedicated herself to mastering Abacus Calculation, achieving an expert level three certification during her studies. She skillfully applied her abacus skills in various professional capacities in China. Over the past few years, she has been teaching young students in both English and Chinese languages, showcasing her expertise and passion for education.
Mrs. Emily Kim Eccles Drawing and Creative Design Instructor
Mrs. Eccles pursued her education at the Fashion Institute of Technology. With a wealth of experience gained from working in leading fashion brand companies over the years, she now oversees a company specializing in food presentation design. Recognizing the significance of compassionate and supportive teaching in fostering the academic and personal growth of young students, Mrs. Eccles is deeply committed to this principle.
Ms. Teresa Cao Beginner Chinese Instructor
Ms. Cao joined EEC in 2023, she has been teaching Mandarin for about four years. Her gentle demeanor, patience, and creativity in teaching have made her a favorite among many young students.
Ms. Yawen Liu Instructor and Program Director
Ms. Liu is one of the founders of the Huaxia Chinese Academy of Greater New York, the largest Chinese school in the tristate area. Since 2011, she has held several key roles within the school, including PTA Chairperson, Board Member, Vice Principal, and teacher. She is a certified Chinese language instructor, accredited by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, a governmental agency of China. Leveraging her extensive connections within the Chinese communities of Westchester, Ms. Liu has played a vital role in recruiting instructors and shaping curriculum development at the Edgemont Enrichment Center (EEC). Before fully dedicating herself to EEC in 2016, Ms. Liu worked in the IT industry for two decades. Beyond her professional roles, she is deeply committed to community service. She has volunteered for over a decade with OCA-WHV, serving as both a board member and, most recently, president (2023–2024). She has also served for two years on the Edgemont School District Board Nomination Committee and for several years as a board member of the Edgemont Chinese Association.
